FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do you accept children of any age?
A: Yes we do, from 3months in our Nursery through to our Sixth Form. The school is happy for children to join at any age.
Q: Can children start at any time during the year?
A: The normal and popular time for starting is in September, at the beginning of the academic year. However children can start at all times, providing there is a place for them in the year group they wish to join.
Q: How big are the classes?
A: We tend to have small year groups, but as of September 2013 the maximum size of any class will be 22 students and sometimes less.
Q: Is there an entry test?
A: Yes there is depending on which year group you are applying for. Further information can be obtained from the Admissions office or by emailing: admissions@holytrinity.co.uk
Q: How often do parents receive reports?
A: We give parents two very full and informative written reports each year, one at the beginning of Term 2 (spring term) and one at the end of Term 3 (summer term), with regular parents evenings held throughout the school year.
Q: Are scholarships available?
A: Yes. Scholarships are available to talented pupils throughout the whole school. These can be academic, music, sports or creative arts based, and awarded on ability and potential.
Q: What is HTIS known best for?
A: Feedback from past and current parents and pupils indicates that it is our warm and caring ‘family’ based environment, together with our academic achievements. Children are provided with the care and attention that they need as individuals, something our parents value highly. As a result our students leave as confident, friendly children who enjoy learning and appreciate the importance of making a positive contribution to the community.
Q: How will I know what is going on at school?
A: The school publishes an annual calendar and all news, letters and important information is posted on our website www.holytrinity.co.uk. We also use Text Messaging which our parents find most useful. In addition to this the school publishes a weekly newsletter, which is again posted on the website; keeping parents up to date with what is happening in the school, after school and what our wonderful Parent’s Association (PA) has plans for next!
